FAQ

  • Creative process

Ideas live in an abstract universe hard to reproduce in this world. A beautiful idea is attractive, appealing, one falls in love with it, and the visual image begs to come to life. In my case they tend to feel heavy and minimal, with s sense of real connection to earth, to the raw savage nature, stone and steel often come naturally to mind.

  • The interplay between medium and art piece

How many times did a statue start from a sketch, and ended up modifying the sketch after the hands came in touch with the stone and the metal? Many times.

  • Meaning and interpreting art pieces

Art and meaning are intertwined. The narrative for me is as important as the piece itself. What’s the story? I absolutely delight on reading a title, a statement… But only after i getting my independent feel beforehand. If there’s contrast between the artist’s take and my impression, it’s all the more interesting.

  • Themes, series and exhibitions

I will always refuse to make a piece only as a complementary. Naturally i noticed I get 2 or 3 ideas expressing the same theme as a maximum. That is never enough in the common ways of working to hold an exhibition, galleries like one dominant style, theme, series. the whole life seems to favor specialization. But as long as i can afford it, i will stay true to my heart, and every exhibition will be in one way or another made out of Fragments.

  • Dominant ideas in Eliot's work

Absurdity, Symmetry, Infinity, Tension of opposites, duality and oneness, recursivity, representation, loops, paradoxes, hypocrisy, mirror world, blind spot…

  • Who's Eliot

It’s not hard to find out, but I wouldn’t care to stress it. I believe names and titles and fame and monuments are all going down the vortex of time, and only ideas will carry on. For all that I care, I will have succeeded if I make one person smile, at any given time.
