The hill
Eliot was born out of the beautiful rocks of this land.
He got his own name because he's not me.
He's the one that asked questions with no answers when I was very young and gave value to the stone that I bear.
“Heavy stone in its place” is heavy with meaning, universal in its reach, when I question belonging and identity, I'm forever bound to keep looking for an answer to… Who's there? Maybe I’ll see it from the top of the next hill.
Samer,
I mean Eliot.
The shadow
He approached what has made him,
He realized the shadow is real.
For a split-second he saw himself in the distance, as he got ever near
He turned his back but stood there still
spare me the light, spare me the day
He muttered to a horizon all round, with a single line that got so thin
but he gazed in vain
“Perhaps one more step, or two…”, had lured his heels away…
Time fossil
“It’s about time”
About time… for what?
“It’s about time, this time, it’s about time”
Eliot said as he cracked open a stone, carved by some moments,
polished by others,
and put it down.
Time? .
..
I checked the time,
as it was time,
for time to change.
But it had not.
Any second now
Any day,
Any year
now
Pinned to the wall
Desperate for a tick that
I had not known,
Was no time at all
Until it ticks I was hanging
Dead look locking life looking to turn
Away, for fear of turning
To stone the very moment
The look comes to life
From his chair Eliot took a sip of air, looked me in the eye
“not more than once, upon a time,
